Just what I was looking for: a really retro look to the shots.

Examples:

Some sort of crappy consumer-grade 800 colour neg pushed to 1600, 1/30 at f1.2

Excellent 'pop' in the two last images.
Great stuff!!

Great bokeh too, I looked at this lens several times, nice lens!

Seems to me like a very good lens at f/1.2 eventhough it has been said multiple times web size photos do not tell anything about lens performance.

I used to have Pentax 50/1.2 (SLR lens of course) when I was 13 y.o. but sold it many years ago for some plastic EOS stuff. :bang:

Very good results! I am partial to #3. I do not understand why the fast Canon glass is so under-rated. I got back some results with my $27 Canon 50mm F1.8 and it looked sharp enough to trust on vacation. I will be scanning some shots from it next month. I have the f0.95, f1.4, and f1.8. I get great results from all three.

Has anyone used the Canon 50mm F1.5? It is a Sonnar copy; the other lenses are more from the Xenon family.

Where in the world did you find a $27 Canon lens Brian? Is it one that you sent over to Essex for a CLA? I have been looking for a year and whenever I see one it is always listed over or sells over $200.

Yeah, and if I'm not wrong he disassembled and cleaned it himself (from a previous post) so he also knows what he's doing :D

Merciful, some great environmental portraits there !

Thanks, Taffer (and everyone else) I appreciate the comments.

......again, great lens! Did you process this roll at a normal time or pull/push process it. My last couple of rolls of Tri-x have come out with more grain than normal, same developing times and procedures. I typically rate it at 280 or 320 so I expect some grain but I'm getting more than I'm used to.
Great shot!

Yeah, I keep it at 70*, maybe I should drop to 68* ? what do you think?

when i was doing my own film i tried my best to keep it at 68*.
in truth, i'm most likely the least technical person on this board so i'm hesitant to offer much insight.
