Hi all,
There is an auction (270232770346) for a canon 1.5 that has a small chip on one of the inner elements. Only visible when wide open and only a "slight" effect on image.

I'm thinking it'll depress the price a bit, though not sure by how much (I might lowball). Do you think the chip is a big issue, though? In the last 2 weeks they have gone for $185 and $280 (bit gap, I know).

That is one major chip .... wonder how it got there. Probably on the surface before or after the aperture. I would stay away from it, Allen.

Roland.

It's past $125 already. At $100, I would open it up and black out the chip. At above $125, I'd get one that is complete. I use a 90mm F2 Summicron with a bigger fracture than this. It just does not have an effect, but it is a crack in the inner element, not a chip.
