Nice. Well done ad too.
Now if only I had the money for it and a Canon 7 and I'd be a happy little LTM camper...

I shouldn't be asking, don't need a third 50mm to add to my growing collection

Sounds just about right.

I paid 300 USD for mine and it wasn't too high. If glass is perfect and smooth focussing, why not?
The 1.5/50 is special. A Sonneeer... Collectable and highly usable as well. Warm atmosphere, though sharp and very contrasty. What I not like is the infinity lock, so I dismounted it. Great compact highspeed lens.
cheers, Frank

I'm in the "go for it" camp here as well; somebody buy-it-now! I would, but I got fed up with waiting for exactly this kind of deal on a good one and bought a Nikkor 50/1.4 through a dealer instead. (No regrets, by the way; it's exactly what I hoped it would be).

A month or so ago a few of these sold in the $375 to $425 range. Just this weekend one closed at $295. It is an excellent lens, mine is in my bag with my M3 and Collapsible Summicron. It a produces a classic Sonnar image which is very different, but just as pleasing as that from the Summicron.

frank,
do you still have the bits from taking it apart?
my 28/3.5 (if it ever arrives) has had the infinity lock taken apart also and i'm one of those freaks that quite like it.
i'd be willing to buy the bits from you.
