Well-known
It's good that he lubricates the lens too, because almost every one I've seen has had dried grease on the helicoid.
I got in touch with Steve S. and he confirmed the price and says he can do the conversion in 5-6 business days which the fastest I have ever seen. Also says "prices include helicoid overhaul and cleaning of optical elements." Wow! Btw, THANK YOU again for his contact info.
Thanks! I emailed him wrt price and schedule. I normally send gear to DAG and love his work but he seems to get so busy sometimes, it's nice to have options.
Keep It Canon!
IPS: I`m still looking for a Mint/Unaltered version of this lens or a Canon 7sz and Lens combo - that I`d gladly pay $700/$800 for a lens or under $1,400 for the combo (a fair market price for Canon gear)
There is one TV lens now that looks flawless, but the conversion will be destructive.

This was a decent combo

And what it made should be the going price for such a combo, how can greedy camera dealers expect to sell these combos over this price?

Who's work did you see Tom?ATTENTION FOLKS!
I have seen today an amazing f0.95 to M mount conversion that`s leaving the lens like 98% original and working PERFECTLY on a M8 - even the Canon "ears" are left on the lens and also act as the lens release!
Unreal workmanship, it leaves the other conversion/hack jobs in the DUST and the guys doing them for like $275/$300 using original Leica parts to modify the lens back
Only major modifcation/cutting are the lens tabs on the back of the lens and the lens is 100% ENCLOSED not left open like all the other cpnversions, so bugs/dust and small animals can live in it
I`ll be getting some photos of these conversion soon, it is yet another great one I have found from someone who`s just doing this at their spare time and not a major camera repair shop etc.
After seeing this job I almost felt it`s ok to modify these, well it`s still better to use the TV lens in my opinion, while you are saving a Canon 7 lens by doling so, but this conversion by far is the finest I`ve seen worldwide

Who's work did you see Tom?
Ken Ruth works on these, so does DAG.
An other person was mentioned by a member just recently , but this techies name escapes me.
So who is this mysterious man you speak of, Sir?
One is here in Florida the other in California, they both do these things on their spare time and are not full time camera repair shops etc.
As soon as they are ready to go with operations I`ll be advertising for both of them, so it`s going to be a team effort and a servce to be offered to anyone who wants this done, I really think that the conversions I`ve seen done already are mostly pretty shoddy and very expensive, these two fellas will be doing the conversions under $300 when they are ready - I`m sorry to be like the one holding the paperbag with the cat in all closed up, but these fellas want to have all the little ticks and bugs sorted out and be ready so these can be the best conversions around 🙂 (they both only have one conversion each done, but they are still the best by far, I`ll post photos when I have them)

DAG has one that uses the Visioflex mount. Have you seen this? You are missing Steve, whom I've sent the lens for conversion. It will not leave any holes for dust and dirt to enter the helicoils.
