Canon 7 hot shoe mod

Hi,

Consider the following:

Can the hot shoe part be used in place of the flange so that the pc port upon screw-in will clamp the hot shoe onto the camera?
Furthermore there is this rounded shape on the middle of the hot shoe.
The ground connection of the pc port will be electrically connected to the shoe. The centre pin of the pc port will be then in the centre of the shoe as well.
I couldn’t find the dimension of the shoe. Guess I’ll have to get one to test it out.
What do you think? Feasible? Or it’s not going to work?

So basically you're mounting a hot shoe on the side of the camera? Looks look like it would work, but electronics are not my strong point.

I don't think it fits mechanically. You could certainly drill some holes and just attach the shoe there with screws. I've used double sided tape to stick a cold shoe for a finder on the Canon script on the top cover, over the meter readout would also work.

there are various classic hot shot adapters connecting to the PC already produced
just search ebay
