Hello all, a word of warning ahead, i probably have neither the skills nor the information to replace shutter tapes.
Regardless, after being unable to find a repair shop close willing to replace the tapes on my cheap ebay camera, I decided to replace the torn tapes for the closing shutter on my Canon 7S myself, as a last ditch effort to get it working again.
The new tapes appear to be more or less in the right place (though slightly thicker), but now it appears that the closing shutter curtain doesn't close completely on shutter release. I assume the answer would be a cleaning of the brake, but since the camera worked pretty much spot on before the tape tore, I wanted to ask whether someone here could point me at other possible culprits.
Where would you suggest I start? Thanks in advance.
