Here's mine from years ago.

If you ever see the hood cheap, grab it! I looked for many years and finally bit the bullet with Kevin at $250

I needed a Nikon BL finder for my 105mm Nikkor for my Contax II. Looked for a year with no luck and did the same - bought one from Kevin for over $300. Ugh! Still stings.

Raid, nice shots! I love the 2nd one.

Thanks for all the feedback on prices. I'll set my max budget at $800. There's one on the bay that is way too high - asking price is $1280 with the correct shade & torpedo finder. My gut told me that it was high. Thanks for confirming it.

For that budget, do yourself a favor and consider the 85/1.8, too. I bought mine for US 550 last September. Beautiful optics and smaller (also than the 100/2)

The black 85/1.8 is supposedly lighter and better overall optically than any other 85mm lens by Canon (or even by others, according to Stephen Gandy).

However, I understand your reasoning. On the other hand, you could sell your 85/2 and get instead a 85/1.8. I don't own a 85/1.8, by the way. I am happy with my Summilux 75/1.4.

I'm on a Serenar kick right now. I had an 85mm f/2 Serenar back around 1983 and dropped it. I had to get another Serenar this time around. BTW it's at DAG for a CLA along with the 28mm f/3.5 Serenar that I just bought as well.

A few more, now on M9:

I also have the 1.8 and the 1.9. All are very strong really. The 1.8's main real world advantage is it is much shorter and lighter than any of the other Canon 85 LTMs. I think it's the first true Canon telephoto. The 1.5 is even more rare than the 1.8, as fewer were made. As you can see once you stop down even a small amount it is really crisp.
