I got a Canon 85/1.5 to complement my Canon 85/1.9. I am [for the time being] content with what I have for what I do with the lenses.
Thanks for the link to your website, Frank. I have seen it, but I forgot about it.

HI,
For the time frame the 85mm f/1.8 lens was on the market between 1961-1975 the thumb screw, clamp-on, T-60 is the correct hood for that lens. The T-60-2 is for the later cameras although it will fit the RF lens.
Great pics from the lens, especially like the close up of the Gargoyle, you can almost feel the stone. Peter

Not sure if this has come on the forum before but here is the meaning for the letters used on the Canon hoods, which is self-explanatory. The "T" in the T-60 stands for "Telephoto", as does the "W" stands for Wide and the "S" in S-60 stands for Standard. Peter

Peter, I know we switching off-topic to hoods here, butdo you know from which year on Canon did switched to this "generic" code? Could it be 1959-60?
I have seen a few hoods with "Canon f:1.4 50mm" whilst the most are marked with "S-50".
I always thought the T60 is somewhat shorter than the T60-2. Never seen a hood with "Canon f:1.8 85m" or "f:2 100mm" (in conjunction the vented f:1.5 85mm hoods aren't that rare).
Never seen a "Canon f:1.5 35mm" as well. Were the W-35 which are quite commonly used on the fastest Canon wideangle ever sold with them? Eventually they all were made for the 35/2.5 retrofocus Canonflex/ FL lenses.
What standard lens a S-60 will fit? The 58/1.2 Canonflex?

Hmm... I think I might have a Canon hood marked 100mm f/2 for my lens. Let me check on that next week and if it's marked, I'll post a picture.
I think for the old Canon lenses, the hood carried the lens markings. Then subsequently Canon dropped the markings and replaced them with codes like T/S/W followed by diameter (e.g. T-60). And later on, there were some lenses that had the matching lenses marked on the hood again (e.g. 100mm 135mm black series).
So.... looks like it's T-60/T-60-2 hood for my Canon 85mm f/1.8 LTM then! Wonder which lens is the S-60 hood for then. Don't think there's a 50mm lens with a 58mm filter size, is there?

They had quite bulky SLR lenses back then, the cameras were large too...

Leaving in about 6 hours, I really should catch some sleep!
