Hi, all. Someone gave me a Canon 75-300 IS USM lens. Everything on the lens works fine (manual focus, aperture, IS) except for the autofocusing. I tried it on my friend's 40D and Rebel Xti, but no luck with the AF.
Any clue what could be causing this problem? I'm thinking if I can't figure it out then I'll send it to KEH. If it's a $100 repair, it will still be cheaper than buying the lens again (bargain lenses are $325 right now). With the savings, maybe I'll get a Canon to use this lens and do the macro stuff my D90 hates (as in it doesn't meter with the bellows, reversal rings and other goodies I'm learning to use).
