Forgot to say that the EF-M and the EF are (very) different cameras:
EF http://www.canon.com/camera-museum/...1973_ef.html?lang=us&categ=crn&page=1966-1975
EF-M http://www.canon.com/camera-museum/...91_ef-m.html?lang=us&categ=crn&page=1991-1995
Good warning!...also be aware of EF-S mount lenses, that most low-end dSLR's use. if your gf's current lenses are those, they wont mount to full frame film EOS bodies.
I have the EF. I was a little startled when the story in the link said:
"The camera's specifications and ease of use were ideal for aged users."
I bought it in 1976 when I was a lot younger. I was working as a reporter at TIME magazine and that is what the TIME contract photographers were using -- none elderly at the time. 😀
