Ok, so I want to pick up a couple of Canonets for 2 of my sons. I see one on evil bay that "It hardly looks as if it was ever used" paperwork the case, the box a second case [nylon] lens cap, and strap. Ah yeah NEVER USED ah huh aren't all the camera s on evilbay never used....

well for $50 bucks I will take a shot. The camera comes, man is it clean it even has this little piece of plastic inside that shows how to load the film, did say clean I mean CLEAN!

So off to greyhoundman to get a battery adjustment and checked out. He emails me and says not only is it new it was never FINISHED. never had light seals, Lubrication? nope never lubed anywhere.

Just had to share :D

Wow, that's pretty amazing. So I take it you were able to get it up and working for the first time since it was made in the 70s. Wasn't there a movie like that- Sleeper?

Must have been pulled from the line by a factory worker for some reason. Either for personal use or to run some QC check that apparently never got made or that shows up. Pretty obviously never got used either. Rare find indeed. Let us see some photos of the camera and your use of it please. What a find. Hope your kids realize what they have (or will they ever get to use it? :D )

well I think I will keep it and give my old one to Jacob, then I may look for another for my snowboarding son yeah I will since he also surfs he may like to play with my underwater housing sometimes too.

here are a couple of shots from the first roll the fox theater is a landmark movie house in Fullerton, closed for about the last 20 years and finally they have found the $ to fix it up and earthquake retrofit it.
