Hello.

I´m a new member, rekindling my passion for analogue photography, after moving to digital due to my work. I´m now getting back to this wonderful world again, after picking up a 1965 Canon Dial Rapid (I also have a nice black, non GIII Canonet QL17, the black one, and a few Canon SLR´s).

I can´t seem to find that much info on this camera and would appreciate if some of you Rangefinder gurus could point me in the right direction.

Thank you very much!

Thank you for the nice trivia! 🙂

The link you gave me is for the Dial 35, which, I believe, was the previous version.

Mine is this one but I can´t find a manual for it anywhere.

It must be rarer than I thought...

It can't be that hard to figure out.

This camera used the Agfa Rapid cassette system so you have to find two empty Rapid cassettes to re-fill them with film. Instructions are found on the internet

The camera had provision for AG- 1 flash bulb use with that built in fold out reflector lid and the rest of the specs look no different than my Fujica Drive half frame camera.

Here are some of the specs for that Canon half frame camera from 1965:

Specifications:
half-frame 35mm film camera 18x24mm
fast f/2.5, 30mm Canon SE lens, 5 elements in four groups
used rapid film cassette system, includes two cassettes
spring actuated motor drive
f/2.5, 4, 5.6, 8, 11, 16, 22
B, 30, 60, 125, 250, 500
ASA set by level of rapid cassette position, lever controls setting
Cd S photocells takes 1x 625 battery*
reflector flash for AG 1 flash bulbs
film indicator dial on back cover
48mm filter size, not included
412 grams
11x7x3.5mm or 4.25x3x1.25 inches

Thank you.

IT really isn´t hard, no, but I just wanted to find out more via the manual, out of curiosity.

Time to fill some cassettes... 🙂
