I'll just go back to my criticism of the Nikon (which goes for Sony, which I own, as well) and question why the designers insist on putting the viewfinder in line with the lens mount when there is no practical reason to do so. Do they think photographers get incredible pleasure cleaning nose grease off of LCD screens?

This is the exact reason I bought the X-Pro2 over the X-T2, and prefer rangefinders over SLRs... but then, I am right eye dominant.

I'll stick to SLRs for this size/weight and use a pocketable Sony/Fuji/Ricoh GR for mirrorless. While initially interested in the Canon, it just does not make sense. Neither does the Nikon.

Presumably Canon/Nikon have done the maths on cannibalisation of their SLR businesses and see better margins (from maybe overall lower volumes) from mirrorless as the way forward.

I don't see a reason to prefer such a huge mirrorless over an SLR. The Sony seems to be sufficient to be able to adapt rf lenses, which is the only reason I can think of to justify a huge mirrorless.

I'd prefer a digital M, Xpro 2 or even an SLR...
