Nice cameras guys , I think they are all beautiful and you have just provided me the the push to call my repair guy and have my dear old Ftb rebuilt.
I nearly got an F-1 recently but spent too much time thinking about it and a smarted more cultured person grabbed it ... hate it when that happens

Here's mine:
It really hasn't gotten much use since I bought the Nikon F2 and I ponder selling it. It's way to nice to be a shelf queen.

Gorgeous. The Motor Drive MA has to be one of the best Canon accessories ever IMO.

Don't have any pics of my TX, which has been in storage for over a decade, but I still use the F-1n (with a pristine 85mm 1.2L) in the studio for B&W work.
Got a bit of wear and tear, but I try to keep it nice:
Best,

little OT, but any experiences how much does FD lens conversion to EF cost ? and, is it possible todo to Nikon-F ? those FD 50/1.2 and 85/1.2 L lenses are tempting

FD mount is extremely shallow. FD to EF -> it can be done with converters that have lenses in them only and they significantly degrade performance. Canon did make a converter to use Nikon F on FD cameas but not the reverse.
The only time thing other than FD cameras that FD lenses can be used well on is micro-4/3 digital.

No need to work out with one of these:

There is a flickr group for 'FD on EOS' users:

I've submitted a few pictures there myself, using a 'Lens Doctor' adaptor and a 1D MIIn. I'm not sure the image degradation is as much as people make out. Some examples:

All but the first one are straight from the camera. This first one was converted to B&W using Adobe Elements.
To me the metering and focussing is more fiddly, but the results don't seem bad at all.
Best regards,

I love using my Canon FD gear. The cost of lenses and cameras is remarkably cheap, but quality of photos produced is fantastic. FD gear in Japan is really under-appreicated in my opinion. Which is good because the prices are low!
The Canon T70 may be ugly, but I think the viewfinder is amazing. The meter is always spot on! The entire set-up cost 15USD $. It is ugly, but darn functional.

I rather like most old SLR's, and the Canons are no worse than the competition in the cosmetics department, in my opinion. The F-1's (i.e. all versions), the FTb, the A-1, and AE-1 in black all are quite good looking. But the EF trumps them all. I have one, and want another. Ooh, and it brasses very nicely too.
