Canon FD > EOS adapter infinity focus

I just plunged into the EOS family in a small way, with a Canon Rebel XT. Having nothing but the kit lens, I want to use my fairly extensive collection of FD lenses, and use them for normal photography, rather than macro.

I've already noted several types available from Google, and through the various retail sources on the web. My real question is simple: is there one that will give good or better results at a reasonable price?

I know they require glass to obtain infinity focus, and the quality of that is variable, but I'd think someone made one with decent glass. Also, I'm very aware of the Canon adapter, available years ago from Professionalo services, but that was primarily made for the long white telephoto lenses costing in the thousands. I'd like to use basically 20mm to 200mm lenses, with more use of wides than teles.

Any knowledgeable help from this well-informed group will be greatly appreciated. I'm aware that other cameras are more easily adapted than the Canon, but it was a gift from a relative, and I want to spend as little as possible, while getting acceptable results.

It's easy: none of them will give results that are worth it (except maybe the original Canon adapter).

In practice there are no digital SLRs to which FD lenses are adaptable. You need a mirrorless for that. Even then the lenses will be big, quality will be nowhere near what you get from a dedicated lens, and with all the mechanical interlocks in the mount the FD adapters are often a bit awkward.

I have a lot of FD glass, I just use it on my FD mount cameras. I was a big fan of Canon until the introduction of the EF mount. Had I known back in 1980 that Canon was going to abandon its loyal customers by coming out with a non-compatible mount, I would have chosen the Nikon camp instead.

rxmd is right. With the possible exception of the Canon adapter, there are no good FD to EF adapters.

I would look at fotodioxpro.com. I have seen others' photos using the FD to EOS adapters (both regular and AF confirm) that are surprisingly good. The pro series of adapters have a removable two-element lens that allows the adapter to be used as a macro barrrel. Reasonably priced, too.\

Edited to add: Infinity focus is possible. These are recommended for crop-sensor EOS bodies, i.e., not full-frame.
