Canon Flash and R-D1

Are there any canon flashes that work with the R-D1?

I just tried putting a Canon 420EX on the hotshoe of my R-D1s and it wouldn't fit. Too many metal prongs. I don't have a sync cord on me but I presume it would work via sync cord.

O.C.

I have a Metz 32 MZ-3 only with one contact in the middle of the shoe and work with the RD1s, I don't like too much, but work.
Regards.

I have used a 550EX and a 580EX on my R-D1s with no problems (it is a tight fit though). When either the 550 or 580 are in manual mode, you can use the wireless trigger capabilities. It makes for a nice multi-flash setup.

I use an older Canon 133A. It is reported to use a lower, "safe" voltage. It has the eye for exposure control, however I haven't gotten completely comfortable with the exposures yet. Gto it on eBay for cheap.

Try this one or one of the others in that series, for the AE-1, 144A?
