I have put together a nice, basic Canon FTb kit, built around a $15 body I found this summer.

I am looking for an "ever-ready" body case for it.

A buddy has a similar FTb that he bought new back in the early 1970's, and his ERC is falling apart.

I haven't found any body cases on e-bay.

I am assuming they weren't very good, and have all disntegrated by this time...

Does anyone know of another SLR case that will fit the FTn body, perhaps from the AE series ?

Thanks...

The A/AE series cases will not fit.

The FT, FTb, FTbn, TL, TLb, & TX are all interchangeable.

Most of the "b" vintage 👎ever-ready cases used a faux-leather and all are probably pretty much goners by this time. The black outer skin gets brittle, cracks and flakes off. I don't know if the earliest of the FT/TL cases were real leather or not. If they were, they might still survive.

I picked up a Canon FTb at an antique shop in the St. Louis area last month for around $15. It came with a case in mint condition. Sorry...but I'm not willing to sell it...but I wanted to let you know there are probably some good ones out there somewhere. Just be patient...one will probably show up somewhere!

Pentax made a soft fabric case for their slr's some years back. I have two and find them handy for many different cameras, from Nikon F with a 105 to a IIIc with several small lenses. Search e bay for Pentax soft case. Good Luck. Joe

I have an ever ready case that I got with a very little used FTb about 30 years ago. Never used the case. I just use naked cameras! However, the case seems to be in good condition and has been in a box for 30 years. If you want it I will send it to you for just the cost of shipping. I think fixed rate medium USPS box is about $11. Are you interested?
