Canon FTb - building a kit - suggested lenses ?

Going from memory - it's been more than 30 years since I used the FL/FD lenses - don't forget the 200 f4.0. It was part of my original kit - 20, 35, 85, 200 - and a wonderful lens. Only used it with black and white, and still print some of the results.

35/2 concave, 50/3.5 macro, 55/1.2 Aspherical

Canon's 50/3.5 macro is really amazing, don't skip it if you don't have one of these slow ~50mm macros in another mount. Canon, Nikon, Olympus, etc. all made them and they were universally fantastic. Even Minolta's is only the least amongst giants.

May be contradicted but I think FD system is best for normal to short tele and, for the time, tele lenses.

50/1.4 SSC, 85 1.2L are probably still among the best in SLR for respective focal length.
Also 50/3.5 which I will soon get.

I have and enjoy a lot also 100 2.8 SSC.

Generally do not shoot wide in this system and have an honest 28/3.5 and 35/3.5, just ok.
