Canon G-III QL 17 front element

I have a Canon G-III QL 17 in excellent working order except the front element has been damaged to the point that it affects photo quality. 🙁 😱

If you have a good clean front element that you could part with let me know your price.🙄 🙄

My advice is.......Try to find another camera. They are dirt cheap, even in good condition. The Canon QL17 is a great camera with a great lens. Even If you find a front element from the same batch as the original one is it a risk the lens not perform as it should. I'll think the curvature of the element is not the problem, i'm sure they are the same from batch to batch but i have seen the depth/thickness of the elements differ instantly.

Actually I've replaced the front element on 2 other QL17's and both do a fine job..

So far the "cheapest" parts camera I've found is $65 which is far more than I'm willing to pay just to get a front element.

There's a bargain GIII at KEH right now for 29$, might just do the trick.

Just checked KEH. They want $179 in excellent condition. From my personal experience that camera is getting hard to find in working condition especially at some of the prices quoted here. I was in an antiques/junk store last month (March 2007) and they wanted around $65, too, for one that did not function at all and in 'ug' condition on exterior.

The sad part is the build quality of this camera is rather poor when you compare it to even the older full size Canonets. I have a first version Canonet QL17 that is far superior to this one..
