Hi,
The Canon G11 is out. I picked mine up this morning from my local camera store. The joys of living in Japan.
It looks exactly like the G10, but with the swivel back view screen. I have not taken any shots as of yet, but will post over the next few days.
I never thought I would be buy a point and shoot digital camera, but with my first child coming next month I thought I needed something small and compact to lug around with her.
Anyway, I cannot wait to post some photos.

You've had the camera for several hours and you have not shot anything with it yet? It's a disgrace, I tell you.

I'd be interested in the low-light/high-iso attributes on this camera. Please do post.

Are you saying that because of what Ken said?If it were an S90 I'd be impressed.

Who's Ken? The S90 is what I'm excited about. I thought the G11 was a practical joke with it's stop slower lens and its almost larger than an M6 size. I played with one on Monday at my local camera store and laughed. With a stop faster lens, the same sensor and a smaller body I find it a recipe for success.
Anyway, congrats on the G11. I hope you enjoy it.

I like it for the swivel viewfinder. The few results that I have had I have been impressed with at 400 ISO and lower. The real test will come with higher ISOs. There is the expected graininess 3200, but I think, a sharp reduction in the graininess at 1600.
One less stop for me is not a big issue. I like the layout a lot. The layout is convenient and practical. I just like it.
I would love to post some results, but have to head off to bed. Great excuse!
I would love go out tomorrow and test it, but there is a typhoon headed my way. That might throw a wrench into my plans.

Megapixels down from 14 to 10. Does this mean the MP chase is over?

I think that the 7D proved it's not over.
