Well guys and gals,
This is a new path for me up the mountain to the "Infinate Radiant Is" of photography. Am I going to abandon my much loved Leicas, FSU's and Bessa R? No way!

If you go Googling and type in "nun study," you'll learn about a long term study of elderly nuns. One factor in longevity and reducing the incidence of Alzheimer's, is continual "new and different learning."

So here I am, age 60+, and it took but half a roll for me to begin lovin' my pristine QL-17, recently purchased from an RFF member. The film was Superia 100, and there are 6 pix in all; another Post follows this one.

f4 Tel Aviv old Opera Tower mall

f8 Raleigh pedal power

f4-5.6 Down to the Sea in ships; emblem of the Biblical tribe of Zevulun on a
Jerusalem synagogue door

The pix look better Large, so please click on them a 2nd time (+)
On to 2nd Post...

Nice photos, Mike. I acquired a pristine QL17 early in the summer, and really like the results I've got so far, particularly w/ Kodak 400UC. It's also the only 40mm lens I own, and I'm liking this fov. The only problems I've had w/ the camera is that the film re-wind button on the bottom of the camera can easily be pushed in when the camera is riding around in a fanny pack or small knapsack, and then the back of the camera can open. Consequently, I'm looking hard for a case or half case to prevent this from happening.

Hi All and thanks.

Steve, the guy I bought the QL-17 from, installed new seals. There's a downside to that; I have to really make sure the rear door is closed and firmly latched. The edges of the light-tight door are just seating themselves in the seal material.

If your rewind button is getting inadvertently pressed, perhaps a half-case would be good for you.
Ciao, Mike

You've got me excited, Mike!

You've got me excited, Mike!

I will be taking delivery of a QL 17 and a QL GIII sometime this week. I'm looking forward to checking 'em out. One of them looks as if the seals will need to be replaced, though. I'll have to dig up a thread to guide me through the process, but I don't think it's too tough.

Regards!
Don
