Canon IVSb shutter speed dial.

Hi hope someone can help. I have just obtained an ISVb and all seems fine apart from the shutter speed dial. The selected speeds do not alight with the marker on the hot shoe. i thought maybe the three screws around the dial would release the cap and allow me to re-seat in the correct position but they do not appear to release the cap. Do I have an issue or am I missing something in the mechanics of the camera?

I assume that you have already wound the shutter- the numbers only line up after the shutter has been cocked. If you have already wound the shutter, I have no thoughts on how to fix the problem.

Dexdog- may thanks for the reply- did a quick search for the same problem and found a similar issue. Having tried again with the 3 x screws on the knob- they do indeed release the cap and now my speeds align perfectly.
Just thinking about your reply. Are you saying that when the shutter isn't cocked the speeds will not align? In which case maybe I should repeat the exercise but cock the shutter first? Sorry but I am a newbie on Rangefinders.

With many LTM cameras, the shutter speed selection dial rotates automatically when you wind/release the shutter/etc. After firing the shutter, the dial will be misaligned until you next wind/cock the shutter.

CHEAT! Since the speed dial rotates the same amount for any speed, simply make a mark on the top deck by the dial to indicate the positioned of the speed you want before the shutter is wound.
