Hi All,

i've just mounted my new black Canon 135/3.5 w/ Adorama adapter on my M6.

On fully screwing it in, I notice there's roughly a 2mm space between the adapter flange and the knurled ring at the base of the lens. (See attached photo).

is this normal?

Please post more photos of the camera and lens. Looks cool! And how does it work? Does the rangefinder cam couple?

Hello CJ, yes, it is normal. The Canon lens mount has, between the knurled ring you mention and the screw mount proper, a smooth ring. See attached picture of lens with M-mount adapter attached.
Regards,
Luis

Nothing to worry about. I believe a few other Canon lenses have the rear mount designed in a similar manner too. It makes it a lot easier to grip the base of the lens when you want to unmount the lens from the adapter (when it's still mounted on the camera).

Cheers,

Thanks for your informative and prompt responses. I half thought I'd have to burn the rest of a roll to see if there wasn't something terribly wrong with the registration.

For those curious, yes, it does couple with the RF, and the camera looks appallingly like an SLR when mounted along with the grip. One reason I bought this was that it's not as long as a Hektor or Elmar 135, but yeesh...it's definitely long.
