Canon Model 7

My Canon 7 arrived yesterday. 🙂 🙂 Seller did a fine job of describing it accurately except......he said the meter was dead. After zeroing it out and checking it the meter not only works but is dead on both in bright light and the low light setting..Only other adjustment I had to make was a very slight tweak of the horizontal rf. Vertical is right on..

Time to run some film through it now...😀

That happened with mine as well - bought from KEH as a bargain - broken meter. After about 6 months it started working!

I had the dead meter 7 with dirty finder glass but it got fixed when I took the top cover off for finder glass cleaning.
I found the meter has a lead wire coming out of the meter on body that simply "touchs" the lead wire from the sensitivity switch and photo cells fixed on the top cover. This contact point apparently gets dirty over the years resulting in a death of the meter.
The contact point is located at right side of the finder above the rotary switch behind the top cover metal. Before opening the cover, My 7 had its meter needle jump pressing this part from outside so if anyone have 7 with a dead meter, it may be worthwhile to try it out.
