How available are replacement parts for these? I'm looking for a shutter speed dial. Is that part interchangeable with other models from the same era? How easy to do it yourself? Nothing wrong with mine, its perfectly usable, but its been slotted to (I assume) accept a non-Canon clip-on meter so looks a bit tatty if I'm using it without a meter attached...

I see why people like using these - lovely rangefinder patch, great winder and rewind lever, and very solid all round 😎

Parts?????? I think you're SOL (s**t out of luck) there. Great camera, but zero parts unless you buy a junker for spares (UK talk) for cannibalizing (USA talk).

I concur with a previous poster- DAG Camera may have a replacement part. Don Goldberg, the owner of DAG Camera, is a good guy to do business with, although I would recommend calling him rather than emailing.

I think I have a solution to this 🙂

The Canon meter that came with the camera also has a shutter speed dial of course, and as I won't be using it (its bound to be inaccurate after all this time) I think I'll just swap the dials over. Have taken a close look and the dials appear to be secured by three very tiny grub screws around the edge (more evidence of Canon over-engineering 😀)

Will have a play and report back.

Other than the shutter dial the camera is in very good condition - marks on the top plate from where the meter has been attached and the crank rewind used but that's about it...

A user rather than something to just sit on a shelf...
