Has anybody used this printer? I am looking for a printer (150Euros or below). And so far I've only seen positive reviews on this one. But none of the reviews were from photographers. Searching through this forum I've also found lots of good things said abot HP, what would be the equivalent HP model? I want to use it for Color and B&W prints. And my wife will use it for printing text documents.

thanks.

I have the Pixma IP4000 since my Epson C82 clogged up so badly I couldn't get the nozzles clean.

It is a nice printer and doesn'T clogg up when you don't print a couple of pages every week.

As most 4 colour printers it is ok for a quick photo print and the consumables aren't that expensive. But don't expect too much, photos are far from minilab quality, B/W is close to impossible and it's overall too expensive.

Here I get a 13x18cm print from a Fuji Frontier for 0.29 Euro where the Canon can not match the price or quality.

It's a very good office printer with low costs at small volumes.

Ok, not impossible, but ugly. If you print with the black ink only the result is closer to a newspaper and if you use the colour inks to create greyscales you get a colour cast about anywhere.

I use Lyson QuadBlack inks in an old Epson Photo 750 to print B/W, that's closer to what I want. Framed behind glass, where you can't feel the paper, nobody has complained yet :)
