hi all. i recently bought a black ql17. i like the features and i like the output but a few details are kind of bothering me. i didn't have a chance to try another one so im not sure if these are about my copy or common canonet facts.

1. focusing ring is not very smooth. especially with small movements.
2. the shutter button is a bit wobbly.
3. neither aperture ring nor shutter ring clicks at all.

if anyone can comment on these issues it would be appreciated.

I'm not sure if it's common or not, but when the shutter ring stopped clicking on mine, it wasn't very long until the shutter seized up. My shutter button always wobbled, but focus was always smooth.

If your camera seems to be working, I wouldn't worry, but I'd look in to getting it CLA'd in the near future just in case.

I have two of these, one chrome, one black ...

1. No, they are not silky smooth like most SLR lenses or like the Mamiya RF. They should not be rough, just not as smooth as you might expect.

2. Normal.

3. If they're supposed to click, it's not very obvious. 🙂

Hope this helps.
