It's a nice old Canon LTM rangefinder with Canon lens.
Quantaray is prolly the brand name on the filter or cap only...

Thanks Chris, I thought the 2 brand names sounded odd together as a camera label. Also, I am pretty sure the lens reads f1.something. I emailed the seller about that.ChrisPlatt said:

It looks like a Canon L1 with 50mm F1.2 lens.
If you could inspect it, it would be nice. In "as-is" condition, it could take anywhere from $130 to get the camera body working and more work if the rear elements of the lens are etched. This often happens on 50/1.2's. The camera is "as-is" and "untested". I would not go any higher than you would on Ebay with "I know nothing about cameras, but see no reason why this one will not work" type of seller. In other words, it's above the gamble already.

Btw, I've seen a lot of acronyms flying around wrt where to get CLA - but no links. Where would I go to clean it up?

Essex camera in New Jersey cleaned my Canon Vt and my Canon VI-t for $138 each, which included return via UPS. The Vt has a Trigger wind, a secondary knob wind, and pop-up knob rewind. The L1 (which I sold) is the same camera but has lever advance instead of the trigger wind. The Vt and VIt have a pop-up Knob wind for use when you can't extend the trigger. The tripod socket is on the reverse side of this camera. Made me look. I'll recheck.

Karl Bryan of Beaverton OR is a whiz with most older cameras.
He has been able to fix everything I've sent to him.
Reasonable, too.
I know he recently rebuilt an old Canon LTM rangefinder
for his own use, including the shutter.
Tell him you heard about him on RFF.

Here is the "for sale" thread for my ex-L1.
Note the camera shown in the acution has the same advance lever as the L1, and rewind knob. Also note what i though was a fair price for a known working camera with Nikkor lens.

A lot of Seller's mistake a filter label for the camera or lens name. Quantaray is a aftermarketer that sells filters. It probably has a Quantaray filter.
I got a great 28mm lens very cheaply because the Seller said it had a "Hazey lens". Turned out it was a "haze filter" on a pristine lens.

There I go again, no resistance (sound of the wallet opening goes here 🙂) Btw, for those of you guys and gals whose day job is not photography, how in the world do you find the time to exercise all of your cameras?
