Some years ago I bought my wife a small, light, cheap SLR. She hated it, and went back to her beloved little P&S. We only ran one roll of cheap color film through it at the race track, developed the shots at Walgreens, and forgot about them.
My computer crashed recently and I was looking at some old back up files when I found the Rebel shots. They're not half bad, so I desaturated some of them in PS and adjusted the levels a little. I wonder if we're not chasing our tails w/ all this gear lust (myself included). Not all the shots were this good, but then that's usually the case no matter what I'm shooting.
I might spend $35 for another one of these kits and see what it can do w/ good film and quality scans.
