i could be persuaded...though the one on ebay looks to be in better condition than the one i'd part with!
 
199 is good for the moment but it lacks a finder. Just got a nice 3.5/28mm with finder for a decent price. Quite surprising for me that it works well in a team together with my RF C/V 4/21mm, or is as sharp as my Pentax-SMC-M 2.8/28mm with both have a good reputation.
Whereas the overall rep. of both the Canon 2.8/28 and 3.5/28mm isn't the best. Inconsistent quality? For me the latter works excellent. But I have never seen a comparison of the two picture by picture. cheers, Frank

You're not kidding about the pain! I've paid just under $400.00 USD for my 28mm f2.8 and Black VF's. I'm still looking for that Canon Hansa for $100.00!
 
Yeah, that IS pain.

The Ebay username looks familiar, though...perhaps it's from someone here. If you bought the incredibly cheap Canon lens, step up and tell us so that we can congratulate and curse you at the same time. :p

i'd love to say yes but it's too rich for my budget.
i have a chrome finder (slightly damaged) and the zeiss ikon with 28mm framelines so it's hard to justify the price against the budget.

but it sure is pretty...
