Canon M39 M39 screw mount bodies/lenses
Wow, 35 lenses! Is your collection complete? (I'm not a collector, but I do like Canon RF lenses and I have a few less common ones.)

We want proof. This thread is all mere conjecture without photos! :D

I'd love to see a platoon worth of Canon RF bodies and lenses.
And 35!? Wow. That number makes me feel like I have to catch up or something. This might cause some GAS...

I'm not a collector but I love talking cameras and photography.

they've all been sitting until i though i'd take one to use on vacation
half the shutter were stuck so i went about trying to fix them
amazing what silicone spray does
they are all fine now
i have a perfectly working SII and another that needs a new shutter
i got the camera apart but have no clue how to replace the shutter blade

There are plenty of Canon rangefinder collectors and, perhaps more importantly, Canon users on this sub-forum. Just ask a question and you'll start a good dialogue.

Mike, I think it is official. You are the enemy!!!

How many of us do you think you out bid for all of those items?

;)

Welcome to the club.
I have a couple of quite scarce Canon RF lenses so I count as a collector probably.
But I'm using that stuff too.
I don't collect bodies anymore, just the one I like. I just have 4 Canon RF bodies (V, VI, P, 7) plus a A-1 (SLR).

anybody have experience fixing them? i'd like to learn
i have an SII that needs a new shutter
i can adjust the rangefinder and unstick stutters if anyone wants that info
most of my pieces i got at camera shows before ebay existed

I don't think of myself as a Canon collector by any means but I have been exploring their offerings looking for what works well for me.

I started with a Canon P. Beat up, not all that reliable but salvageable if I had it CLA'd. I'm on the fence as I may go to an M2/M4 instead. The front of the viewing windows glass is separating which would like cost more to deal with than a straight CLA.

I picked up an IVSB while hunting for a 35mm 2.8. Really like using it but would like to try a latter model with a larger finder. I have a IID2 on the way right now - in need of a CLA - but it may be what I'm looking for. No flash rail, larger finder, etc. If it is I may sell the IVSB to free funds for the CLA.

On the lens front, the Canon 50mm 1.8 is great. I'm still on the fence about the 35mm 2.8 as I get more swirling out of it than I'd prefer when shooting closer to wide open. I picked up a 135mm 3.5 which turned out to be much more useful on vacation than anticipated but know I wouldn't carry it around often due to the bulk. That lead to a 100mm 3.5. It had some internal coating loss but seems to do fine.

In the end I think the 50mm 1.8, 100mm 3.5 and IID2 will become long term users for me. I'll hold on to the 35mm 2.8 until I have a better 35mm option. The rest I'm still on the fence about.

The price for the 50mm 1.8 seems to have come down a bit. Most I've seen have been in the $150 range (down from the $200+ they seem to have been averaging 4 months ago). The IVSB2 I've seen in the $225 range though there has been much more fluctuation there based on condition.

These Canon prices seem to fluctuate much more rapidly than some of the other items I've been watching.

My small Canon RF collection:

IVSb with 50 / 1.8
IIS2 with 50 / 1.5
P with 50 / 1.2
7 with 50 /1.4

35 / 1.5, 35 / 1.8, 35 / 2.0
85 / 1.5 (chrome), 100 / 3.5, 135 / 3.5
