Since my previous post was getting long, I thought this subject deserved its own separate post. My Canon VIt makes 24X30mm negatives (same ratio as 4x5 and 8X10 paper). Both shutter curtains stop running before they complete their normal 36mm travel. My impression is that the camera has been modified to do this on purpose. Back in the 1990's a company was selling a similar camera on eBay. I wrote asking for any information they had on the camera. They never wrote back. At least I know there are two of these cameras in the world. Does anyone else have one? Can anyone explain this modification?

Kevin: beautiful collection!
Kevin and Thomas: of the 35mm lenses you have, do you have a favorite? I remain intrigued by the 35mm f1.5 maybe Kevin will sell me one of his???![]()
Unfortunatly up to now I didn't had the time to use them enought to make a comparison. (I have to much RF gear to play with.) But I hope this time will come this year.

Does it also have a modified film transport to give more pictures on a normal 135 film ?

Thomas 78--Yes, my VIt gives more exposures. The normal wind-on for a 24X36mm exposure camera is eight sprocket holes. My camera winds-on only seven sprocket holes (I checked it three times). However, as far as I can tell the viewfinder has not been modified. The plot thickens.

I have a very pretty black and clean 100/3.5 with hood if anybody wants it. Super cute and sharp.

I'm glad you mentioned the 35/1.8 which seldom gets comments. I've got it, and it's great. It's funny, the F2 and F1.8 versions I believe are the same optical formula, but everyone is told to get the F2.
The 35/1.8 and the 35/2.0 have different optical formulas. Same number of elements and groups, but the rear group of the 35/1.8 is different from the 35/2.0

Hello Kiu,
So you made me into a "Collector"! There seem to exist different levels and stages for being a collector.

LOL, Kiu! In that case, I am only a modest collector!
