I just got this (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/VERY-OLD...6oqKYuzEedkUWq%2F%2Bg%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc) kit with a canon VI-T, 50mM 1.8, 35mM 1.8 and 135mM 3.5. I think it was a pretty good deal..anyway..All of the lenses were seized up but I managed to clean them up. I cleaned up the rangefinder of the camera but the framelines almost seem invisible and the rangefinder patch is also very faint. Is that normal for these cameras? I have a VT also and the patch on that seems alot brighter.

Congrats on your kit

Congrats on your kit

Wow, looks to be a great kit for the cost. There are some fixes for the patch spot but others are I'm sure know more than I about where to find those sites. Anyway Happy shooting and buy more film!

No, it's not normal but it's not unusual either. VI-series Canons' use a silver-hued viewfinder which, in some cases, hasn't aged well. Some folks say that if you place a blue gel over the focusing patch you will increase contrast. Google this topic for more info.
