canon VL2

i just acquired a canon VL2. on the bottom it says L2. The serial number is lower than those listed in the Dechert book. The rangefinder is warm, not silvery. BUT IT HAS THE SELFTIMER. any significance or just canon putting parts together?

The baseplate may have been changed too.

Probably not a rarity.

Baseplates don't seem to always match the camera-some late L3 cameras are blank on the bottom-no "Model L3"
