Canonet 28, anybody?

I picked one up, and out of the 4 FLRFs I've bought, it appears to be the only one without any flaws. While the QL17 gets all of the attention, the 28 can be had cheaply. I like the size and handling... and I already planned to give it away as a present. :angel:

Anyway, I've had trouble finding much info. on it here on RFF. Is it less popular because it just has an f2.8 lens and not a f1.7?

I had one brand new, wife & I got it for a wedding present. Worked great took great pics. I lived a short life, wife dropped it in the driveway end of story. Then I bought a new X-700 used that for 30yrs still going strong. Nice little camera the 28.

It likely gets less attention on RFF because its lens is pretty mediocre. I've shot with both, and the Canonet with the 1.7 is like a Cadillac to the 2.8's Vega. (My apologies to Vega owners.) Of course, stopped way down, they're probably pretty much the same!

Hmm, I'll keep that in mind! Even average lenses can look pretty good stopped down... but at these prices, it's probably worth paying a bit extra to get something with a better lens.
