Canonet 28 front removal help.

hi does anyone know to to remove the front part of of a Canonet 28 the part with the font on it. for some reason i got the camera with the bottom screw unscrewed ? the one that is under the font.

There is a thin lock ring that holds the bezel inside the filter thread - you can see one slit between the 4 and 0, the other opposite between INC. and the meter eye. Tiny slits - you'll need a very high quality lens key with matching tips to open that without scratches. The price of such a tool may approach the price of having it repaired, and exceed the value of the camera...

Beware: It it is like the faster Canonets I've worked on, you may have to remove the lens block first (screws under the body leather covering) to unsolder the meter, or you'll damage the electronics if you attempt to pull out the lens innards from the front.

Thanks. i might just leave it lol. its just kinda annoying as it lifts a little at the bottom. the 4 to 0 part.
