Canonet 28 vs GIII lens sharpness?

I have had several GIII cameras and the lenses were pretty good but I never shot one of the Canonet 28's to compare them. I seem to be finding lots of the 28s lately and no GIII's. Anyone compared them?

You're finding a lot of 28's probably because it's an auto-exposure only camera, no manual overrides possible. That means I'm usually shooting it outdoors where it's likely stopped down already, so it should be fairly sharp. It's a good glovebox/trunk/boot camera, and it's quite a bit lighter than the GIII.

cameras around here seem to go in cycles. I was up to my knees in finding GIII's some time ago now it is the Canonet 28's that are popping up...I did like the feel of the 28 and seems there was a difference in the focusing ring to me also that I liked..
