I finally replaced the seals on my Canonet 28 with the fine Jon Goodman seals. I placed a little _user experience_ on my blog.

I also put Greyhoundman's film pressure plate on the camera.

It seems the camera is again as good as new. The only thing is that I need to check the battery. I don't think it's still good. That means I need a new battery. The one in the camera only says "National H - D". Not very useful information for me. Does anyone have any idea what battery the Canonet 28 takes? No mercury one, I hope. :)

Yup! It's a mercury one! Because of the Auto only function, it is more difficult to trim the meter for silver cells. I would try and get hold of one of John Neals adapters.

Depending on the film used (and who develops it, naturally) you can get by without an adapter. I don't know whether or not mine has been adapted...but it seems to respond like it has. I just use silver batteries in mine.
