I'd like to try out a flash on my Canonet Junior. My goal was to get something with a swivel head so I can bounce the flash when used indoors. The Junior does not have any hotshoe contacts, just a pc cable connection. From what I've seen, the Vivitar 273 or 283 might not be bad?
Anyone have thoughts on maybe a "better" flash? I'd occasionally use this connected to the pc socket on my Canonet QL17 G-III when I want something more controlled than the Canolite D.
Thanks!

I bought a Vivitar 1600 for pretty cheap. Bounce head, and adaptors are highly available for cold shoe application, and quite compact. Easily understood manual operation, too.

Thanks Don! Any links/info to this flash? I couldn't find anything on it.

I have had a Sunpak 383 Super since forever. ASA 25-800, 3 f-stop range and fractional power lets me shoot at 2.0 or 1.4 as close as 2 feet. I've used it on hot shoe & PC connection cameras. Doesn't the Canonet QL17 G-III have a hot shoe? I'm going to use the Sunpak on my Canonet one of these days. Works great on Canon SLR, Leica M and Canon LTM bodies.
I alos use LumiQuest bounce/diffuser and mini softbox. They work well with the 383 Super.

Jay, you can google it or look for one on Ebay. It's about the size of a deck of cards,or 4 1/4 x 2 1/2 x 1 1/4". Ready light, exposure OK light, a couple of auto ranges, and a manual range. I think I paid about $25.00 for it...

Thanks for the info. I was going to try it out on my Canonet Junior also, which doesn't have a hotshoe.
