Canonet GIII QL17 issue

Didn't see this one anywhere else...

I have two Canonets, a 28 which works fine, and a 17. On the 17, when I press the shutter button down, it doesn't do anything, but I can suddenly forward the film unless in A, 28, 20 or 14 on the aperture ring. No resistance from the shutter button in any situation.

Any thoughts?

It sounds like the shutter is jammed up, this is not normal operation.

Got the same problem - the shutter needs cleaning - it's just stuck. I love this camera and got it fixed - the costs are about 85 USD (60 Euros)
