Hi all - I have rebuilt a Canonet New QL19 (similar to modern QL17 & GIII bodies) that had battery leakage and blackwire problems. I have fixed & reassembled it (meter & shutter works exactly as it should, yippee) but I have a transport problem. The film transport just winds and winds. I can release the shutter , but the film wind - normally 1 stroke between frames - just wants to keep winding. Any ideas? Norm, Canberra, Australia

Hi,
If you search the Canon RF threads, this has been discussed a couple of times. I haven't time to do a full search just at the moment but if you have no joy, I will look later. However, this might help http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23367
As an aside, please don't start duplicate threads in different forums. It just confuses things.
I have deleted the other thread so all the replies end up in this one.

Starting with the second photo, it explains what needs to be done. Good luck getting the leatherette off.

Hi all again. The wind adjust lever is now bent correctly and re-fitted, the film counter disk is now nice & flat and the thing winds properly and counts as well! Because the covering was so firmly glued on it came off in pieces, so it has a nice piece of red dark leather ready as a new skin, looks very classy. Many thanks to all. Norm, canberra
