Is getting Kodak chemicals harder where you are?
Plenty of fixer and Dektol, but no D76 to be found.
I suppose I can switch to Ilford.

I don't know about Ottawa but in Montreal I can find D76, XTOL, Rodinal and most Ilford chemicals. But not everywhere

Thanks Lauffray. Can you tell me which stores in Montreal still stock BW chemicals?

What about an internet place such as B&H or Freestyle?
Just thinking, perhaps freight and taxes make it expensive?
Thought I'd suggest to maybe help.

Bill, most the photo places won't ship processing chemicals (even powders) across the border.
I'm surprised Henry's can't get D76. Did you ask in store or just browse the website? When I went looking for Rodinol, I couldn't find any online, but talking in store the one guy who actually knew film was able to find me the product code for Blazinol (what rodinol is now called in Canada) so I could order it. I still have several packets of D76, so I'm not really in a hurry.

I usually buy from B&H (HC-110 and D-76, no problem with shipping across the border), but I saw many popular developers on my last visit to Lozeau in Montreal : T-Max, HC-110 and the likes. They probably have D-76 too, I can't remember.

Weird, both Freestyle and Adorama said they couldn't ship chemicals across the border to me. good to know that at least B&H does, and others may.

B&H ships no problem. I use them all the time. There is a ridiculous shipping charge, however, if you order liquid chemicals. If you are ordering just D-76 Henry's has good prices and ships quickly.

hey guys
Photo Service has Rodinal, it's called Blazinal I think (been a while I haven't checked)
I think they have an online shopping page, there's also Lozeau (which I don't like) and Camtec photo (which has a much smaller selection than Photo Service, but I know for fact they carry D76)
I've bought chemistry from Henry's in TO and I'm pretty sure B&H can ship them as they have a warehouse here in Canada
cheers

Agreed. Shipping charges from B&H get exponential as soon as you want something heavier.

When I was a member of NAPP B&H offered NAPP members free shipping on everything. My last yr. of NAPP membership I ordered lots of liquid chemicals, all prepaid. Don't know if cross border was prepaid. Worth to check out?

Not yet in France, but this will happen sooner or later. Is getting Kodak chemicals harder where you are?
Being fond of the Fomapan 100 film, I often think that I should begin to learn how to make some good Caffenol C-M...
Anyway last year I grabbed all the D76 1l and 3.8l pouches I could at my local store (they were still sold at the former prices, before the news about Kodak's Chapter 11 bankrupt etc drove all Kodak things prices up).

Thanks all. What's really frustrating is that I just placed an order with BH Video, but didn't have D76 on it. I assumed that at least one of the two stores in Ottawa would have D76, and neither did.
BH film and paper is far far cheaper than locally, but I do try to buy some things locally if i can.
