I am having a hard time trying to remove this dial. I pulled up and it won't come off and I don't want to chance damaging something. This is a Franka Solida IIL. Any ideas. There is a film counter built into this model.

The dial looks similar to other cameras that I've worked on. First, put an empty film spool in the chamber. Then put some lubricant on the center shaft and let it set there. Come back to it later and see if the winder knob will wiggle off.

Go to a hardware store and buy a can of Liquid Wrench. If that doesn't work, try heating it a little with a soldering iron. The metal expands with the heat and that may be enough to loosen it.
