hey. i'm new here and wanted to post a new thread in the general RF forum about recommendations for a RF camera that works particularly well in low-light situations, but... whenever i try to submit the new thread / post a browser message pops up telling me that it can't submit as there's no data on the page... or something along those lines. does anybody have any idea what i need to do to be able to create a new thread?
many thanks.

Well, this thread got posted, didn't it? Strange.
edit: Sorry for being abrupt. Welcome to the forum!
If you want advice on a low-light camera, it might be best to clarify what you're willing to spend. The ultimate, imho, would be a Leica M3 with a 50 f/1 Noctilux. However, as that can cost upwards of $6k, your needs might be best spent another way, like with an Olympus 35RC or other fixed-lens rangefinder with a large (~f/1.4-1.7) aperture and manual controls.

thanks erik for the recommendation. precisely what i'm after and yes, my budget would be 'a little' smaller than $6k.
anyway, i tried again to start the thread with no luck. this is what i get:
Safari can’t open the page “http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/newthread.php” because it could not load any data from this location.

What browser are you using? IE, Safari, Firefox?

safari 1.3 on a mac OS X.3.9
what puzzles me is that i was able to start this thread here, but not one in the other forum. makes me think that the problem may not be with my browser / OS system.

HTML code is Off in this forum. I am far from the person who should be answering a technical question, but would that make a difference using Safari?

I don't think that is a specific enough address? If you click on the "forums" button (top left) and try to post a new thread from there it won't work, you should then scroll down 'til you get to whichever specific forum you want to post into, click on that. You then get a page of current threads and towards the top of that there is a button that says "post new thread"--it looks like and is in about the same place as the "post reply" button (above the first post in a thread) is. The link to the first page of the "Rangefinder general discussion" forum is:dancing wayang said:anyway, i tried again to start the thread with no luck. this is what i get:

That should get you where you want to go, I hope.
And, welcome aboard!

Welcome to you!
It seems to me that it is not a problem in OS X or Safari.
I just tested this for you and posted a new thread in the RF general forum, and I experienced no problem whatsoever.
I work on an Intel iMac, OS X version is 10.4.9, Safari Version 2.0.4 (419.3).
