Indeed, I am planning a day trip to Margate this Sunday

If you have come away from Canvey Island alive, Margate will be bliss.
Long time since I was on the Island - seem to remember getting lost during a thunder storm on the way back to London.

I saw, and now wish I had photographed, a bit of graffiti on Canvey Island saying something insane like "Allah is the devil, death to Islam". I looked around the depressed and depressing windswept 99% white Island mainly surrounded by a high sea wall as the land is lower than sea level and thought whoever here thinks Islam is their main problem certainly has bigger ones!
