I recently acquired a rigid 50mm summicron lens and would like to get a hood for it. I've seen the various hoods on ebay and, in particular, liked the sloped front look of the redleica1 hood. But I would also like to have a cap that goes on the hood rather than having to remove the hood every time I want to put a cap back on the lens. Anybody know whether there's a cap that fits this hood?

Thanks,
Randy

Joe, a hood question for you.

Joe, a hood question for you.

Ask the seller of the hood you want what the diameter is and what size snap cap fits.

Better yet, wait for joe to come along and ask him. I think he owns one of those hoods.

Thanks, Wayne. So, following your suggestion, I sent redlieca1 an ebay email question about this but have not received a reply nor has he/she posted an answer on his sale page.

Joe, any chance you can answer my question?

Thanks,
Randy

I use ultraswede bags with elastic around the top opening on WA lenses.

You have to make them yourself. It is much easier if you use a drawstring.

that sounds right.. I keep meaning to pick up some caps for my 2 redleica hoods

I just wish he made hoods in 40.5mm for my Contax gear

Brett,

a Canon S-42 should work on your lens. For example 320017044087.
Also, sometimes ritzcam has some contax hoods. I use an Oly S-45 on my
Nikkor and it feels "just right".

Randy, sorry cannt help you.

Roland.
