So, have you got a camera dedicated to riding in your car's glovebox?

Me, I've got a Rollei 35B with 200asa colour neg film.

You?

Well, not in the glovebox. I don't think that's a good place for a camera, IMHO. My Yashica GSN bag rides on the floor behind the drivers seat. It's ready to grab-n-go. Usuelly loaded with 400 neg. color film.

My M6 or MP goes everywhere with me, so If I'm in the car, chances are one of them is in the car as well. I don't have a dedicated car camera because well,
A, I don't have a car anymore...I decided camera gear was more important hah, and
B, why leave a camera in the car when I have one on me at all times?

I've been thinking bad thoughts about getting another Trip 35 from here, maybe the one with red or blue leather. If I did that, I'd keep my recently-acquired tatty one (with a black button and the feet/meters markings missing off the lens), in the car for those opportunistic moments. I wouldn't want to keep my 'better' Trip 35 in the car in case it got damaged and tbh I'm looking for a good excuse to get a customized one :D . Is it possible to have too many Trip 35s? This would be #3!

My glovebox camera is a Zorki 6 with collapsible I-50 and a couple of rolls of film. It doesn't get much use, but its been very handy on occasion.

Rc & Gsn

Rc & Gsn

The Oly RC on the center console and my GSN in back of drivers seat on the floor.
One with B&W and one with 200 color film.

Cheers

Hi,I keep a Fed2 with a I50 in my backpack all the time.I'm usually on my motor cycle except for rainy days.............Robin

You betcha! A Canon point and shoot. I have many traffic crashes recorded and not much art so far, but I have plenty of nice clouds for my cloud series! Just find me the right ambulance chaser and I'll retire!

A Pentax 110 or a Kiev 303. Color in the former and B&W in the latter. No call so far for emergency use - one never knows, but!

I keep a worn out Olympus 35RC in my glovebox too, except in Summer. Even in Wisconsin it gets to be 120 F or more in the car in Summer. My TLR died after I left it in that heat one time.

I now keep an Olympus XA2 with me and I love using it. I am just waiting to see the results of the first roll I have run through. Will post the results if they are successful. :)

Exactly the same camera for me in my car too with colour C41.

I really like getting the rolls back, as the span of time between the first and last frame is normally three or four seasons and three or four countries :)

Mine's an XA3 but I keep it in the trunk [or boot as you Brits say]...

It weighs 9 1/2 ounces, fits in my shirt pocket and, as most of you already know, takes 35mm film...

I used to keep a Fed 4,but it went to another rff'r a while back.

This reminds me of a permanent quandary---why can't I decide upon a single camera to answer the majority of my needs, whether to keep in the car or otherwise, rather than 'messing around' with different cameras.:(

You know the sort of thing, pocketable of course, good lens, nice (not too squinty )viewfinder, and as many manual functions as possible.

Ah well.

Brian.

This one

Olympus XA with Walgreen's C41 EI200 film. It fits in a slot in front of the shift lever in my Cherokee. I leave it set at f:8 and 5 meters.

But I really prefer a 50mm lens and B&W, and will probably replace it with a Kiev 4, J8, yellow filter and Tri-X.
