Carrying a TLR everyday?

The baby Rollei really is beautiful and a lovely camera to carry around all day I imagine. A pity about the choice of film in comparison to 120, but you're right it is out there, and there are even some people cutting down 120 to use a greater range of emulsions.

I don't carry my Rolleicord around every day (that honour goes to my M3), but when I do so I find it very totable at 850- 900 g. A folder would be nice too.

If I were to do a one camera for a year it would be with my Yashicamat 124...
What's not to love about this...camera, light meter and film...maybe a tripod...but that's it...
The big bonus would be the Acros 400 negs, developed in Rodinal that I get to print...

Anybody using their Rollei's with the prism? Always been curious but never tried one.

I took advantage of B&H's return policy to try one. First it is very heavy and changed the balance of my 3.5F in a bad way.

There is also a considerable amount of light fall off that made focusing more difficult, especially under low light conditions, even with a Maxwell screen.

I'm glad I tried it though, but its not for me.

Agreed--for me, the prism worsens the handling considerably.

With the Rollei pistol grip you can use the sportsfinder and follow action effortlessly. It's amazing what you can do with a TLR and the right accessories.

I tried a little street photography with my Rolleiflex. A guy came over, "Hey, what's up with the old box camera? They haven't made those in years!"

Good for not being taken seriously, not so good for stealth.

They can be good for candid shots if you turn the camera 90 degrees and act like the focusing knob is the lens. Then you can take a picture of someone off to your right.

I love using my Rolleiflex E w/ a prism. It acts just like a big 'ol SLR. I just don't like carrying it w/ the prism!

Great littie tlr. Light weight camera with a 2.8 lens for viewing as well as shooting so was good to go untill the light got really bad. Like others I would preset it for the conditions expected to encounter. Leave it open and if that's your thing with a quick glance you can compose and shoot without anyone being the wiser.

These qualities are also shown by my Lipca Rollop Automat 2.8.
It has a weight of only 1000 g (without film) and ist equipped with a Enna Ennit 2.8 / 80.

I will load a Fuji Velvia 400 in it and will give it a try in the next weeks...

Wonderful looking camera -- haven't seen one before. How does the Ennit perform?

Up to now I only used a few rolls of b&w films with the Rollop.
IMO the Ennit shows a medium contrast and is reasonably sharp stopped down but seems to get softer when used open.

Next, I plan to use it with some rolls of color slides.
