Case and strap for your bessa?

Hey guys, I've been looking around to find a case and strap for my precious r2m. There seems to be a good feedback for luigi's, but its too expensive for me to justify buying for bessa. What is the VC-5 case like? As for straps, domke's gripper seems like a good and cheap choice for most people.

Any comments?
 
I use a Domke gripper as I found the Voigtlander strap too short. I struggled between using a case (the brown voigtlander one) and the side grip. I liked the case for the protection, but I like the side grip for the side lug which lets the camera hang better... I HATE where the lugs are on the bessa's, probably my only complaint about the camera.

In the end, I use the side grip 99% of the time.
 
The Luigi strap is worth the money. I have one of them and love it. But...I use Domke grippers on most all my cameras. They are functional and stay put on the shoulder very well.

I agree with Diaster. The VC side grip makes a Bessa much easier to hold and it hangs better on a strap. Forget the case.
 
hmmm.... i suppose its either the case of the side grip eh...

the side grip looks wuite small though, doesn't seem to have major impact on grip, the much more expense trigger winder seems to do the job much better.
 
I have the grip on my R3A. It looks small, but it makes a big difference in handling. A major improvement to the camera's ergonomics, IMO. I would only get the trigger winder if you think you really need the extra speed/fps.

Luigi makes a half-case with a built in grip (not just a "bump" on the front). Perhaps a good compromise?
 
i was really interested in the domke gripper. However, I can't seem to find any dealer in UK? I've seen seom being sold at Amazon, but can some kind soul please enlighten me on why they are sold in packs of 6?
 
Try the basic Leica 14312 strap. Smart, strong, reasonably-priced, simple to mount (eventually), simple to adjust, and it will not slip.

Personally I would drop the case in favour of a side grip or, better yet, a trigger winder.
 
I have a trigger winder but 90% of the time camera's in the case. Don't use trigger much, yes grip is nice, hang is more than perfect! But leather case just feels nice in my hands. Plus a wristsrap.
