Is there a half-case that will fit a IIIb with a collapsed Summitar? I've tried a Zorki case but it's too tight a fit.
Any suggestions?

I thought the IIIa & IIIb body was the same length as a II, and should fit in a zorki-1 case.

The body fits, but the lens doesn't - the top half of the case doesn't close and I assume it's because it's sized around an Industar-22 lens (either that or it isn't a Zorki case at all - it just came with it back in the day...).

There are originals that fit; I have one for my IIIa / Summar combo that would accommodate a Summitar (snugly), and one for my IIIc / Summitar rig that fits fine (naturally). Finding one in good shape is the problem; both of mine are showing their age.

I thought you wanted a half-case?

Sorry, I'm not 100% sure about the terminology - I mean a case that has a snap-on top half.

What you're describing is usually referred to as a full case or an eveready case.

If you have a case that fits the body but the lens is too long for the nose of the case, cut away the nose at the threads and glue on another, longer nose from another case.
I use weldwood contact cement and it works great.
Someone is sure to give you a nose from a discarded case. I may have one.
